About the Journal
Revista Iberoamericana de Lingüística (RIL) is an academic journal founded in 2006 by Professor Ricardo de la Fuente Ballesteros of the University of Valladolid, with the aim of creating a space for critical reflection on language and communication studies in their theoretical, practical, historical, and applied dimensions. The journal is currently published by the Asociación Pandora de Estudios Feministas y Pensamiento Contemporáneo (NIF G16756496), a Spanish organization that promotes critical reflection, situated thinking, and knowledge from an interdisciplinary perspective.
The journal focuses on the study of communicative phenomena from pragmatic, discourse-oriented, and philological perspectives, addressing both the conceptual foundations and the social and cultural uses of language. Its areas of interest include, among others, the following fields:
- Pragmatics and discourse analysis.
- Verbal and media communication.
- Philological and historical studies of language.
- Rhetoric, argumentation, and communication theory.
- Applied linguistics and interdisciplinary language studies.
The Revista Iberoamericana de Lingüística promotes original research that demonstrates methodological rigor, conceptual clarity, and significant contributions to scientific knowledge in the fields of communication and linguistic studies.
The journal publishes original articles that have not been previously published and that undergo external double-blind peer review. It aims to establish itself as a leading academic forum in the Hispanic and international scholarly community.
✺ Editorial and Publishing Management
The Revista Iberoamericana de Lingüística is a digital, open-access, non-commercial publication. It is published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0) and does not charge any fees to authors or readers for submitting or accessing its content. The journal operates independently through the collaborative work of the Asociación Pandora and its editorial team.
Editorial decisions are made collectively by the Editorial Board, the editorial team, and the Scientific Advisory Board. The journal is published twice a year and is guided by principles of transparency, publication ethics, and a political commitment to philological and linguistic critique.
✺ Calls for Submissions and Publication Schedule
The journal publishes two issues per year. Submissions (articles, interviews, or reviews) are organized into two submission periods: January 1 to March 31 (for the June issue) and July 1 to September 30 (for the December issue).
The editorial team may close a call for submissions before the scheduled deadline if an exceptionally high volume of proposals is received. Any changes will be announced through the journal's website. Accepted submissions will be published in the corresponding issue after completing the evaluation process.
✺ Editorial Evaluation and Peer Review
Submissions undergo a two-stage evaluation process: an initial review by the editorial team focusing on thematic and formal suitability, followed by an external evaluation through a double-blind peer-review process.
Before submitting reviews or interviews, contributors are encouraged to contact the editorial team at seminarioasociacionpandora@gmail.com to confirm their suitability for the journal's scope and editorial guidelines.
Authors are also encouraged to consult the Guidelines for Authors.
