Authorship and Contribution Policy
Perramus. Journal of Semiotic Studies on Graphic and Visual Media recognizes as authors only those individuals who have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the submitted work.
1. Authorship Criteria
Authorship is granted when the following criteria are met:
-
Significant contribution to the conception, design, analysis, or interpretation of the study;
-
Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it with meaningful intellectual input;
-
Final approval of the version submitted for publication;
-
Agreement to take responsibility for the content of the work.
Data collection, technical assistance, funding acquisition, or general supervision alone do not justify authorship.
2. Improper Authorship
The journal does not accept:
-
Honorary or gift authorship;
-
Fictitious authorship;
-
Unjustified exclusion of individuals who meet authorship criteria.
In cases of authorship disputes, the journal may request formal clarification and supporting documentation before proceeding with the editorial process.
3. Order of Authors
The order of authorship is determined by the authors. The journal does not intervene in this decision but may request clarification if inconsistencies arise.
4. Contribution Statement
For multi-authored manuscripts, the journal may request a brief statement specifying the individual contributions of each author.
5. Changes in Authorship
Any modification to the authorship list (addition, removal, or reordering of authors) after submission must:
-
Be properly justified;
-
Include written consent from all authors involved;
-
Be approved by the editorial team.
