Perramus. Journal of Semiotic Studies on Graphic and Visual Media is an open-access academic journal devoted to the theoretical and critical analysis of graphic and visual media from semiotic, intermedial, and cultural perspectives. Its aim is to promote original research on the production, circulation, and reception of visual discourses in formats such as graphic novels, comics, film, television, audiovisual series, and other contemporary hybrid media.
The journal welcomes contributions that engage with semiotics, visual studies, media theory, narratology, cultural criticism, and comparative studies, with particular attention to the relationships between image, text, ideology, and power. Perramus seeks to establish itself as an international forum of reference for the critical study of visual narratives in diverse historical, social, and political contexts.
